PortableApps.com

I recently found my SanDisk Cruzer Micro U3 flash drive. When I plugged it in and checked for updates, I found out SanDisk stopped supporting the U3 software and it was discontinued. It didn't take me long to find a much better alternative though. A quick Google search brought me to the PortableApps.com website. This software is awesome and offers so much for the price of nothing (except for donations and contributions). Here's some info from their About page:
PortableApps.com is the world's most popular portable software solution allowing you to take your favorite software with you. A fully open source and free platform, it works on any portable storage device (USB flash drive, iPod, memory card, portable hard drive, etc) as well as local storage and cloud storage options. With millions of users all over the world and a full collection of open source software as well as compatible freeware and commercial software and partners in the software and hardware industry, PortableApps.com is the most complete solution for life on the go.

PortableApps.com was founded by John T. Haller, the developer behind numerous portable applications including "Portable Firefox" which started the portable software trend. We've been making software portable since March 2004. Today, our team stands at nearly 100 developers, translators, application packagers, designers and release testers. Our goal is to centralize the knowledge and development of portable software efforts and build a single, open platform which any software or hardware developer can use.

I swear it seems like I just bought Battlefield 3 the other day. Doesn't matter though because Battlefield 4 looks awesome (so far) and it's only a few months away. I can't wait to see what multiplayer looks like.

Battlefield 3 Player Stats, Widgets & Sigs (Updated w/ Note)

I'm a big fan of Battlefield 3 for Xbox 360. The Battlelog site by EA is pretty good, but the stats site by BF3Stats.com puts everything together in a nicer flow, and with more options. Besides for having a nice stats page, BF3Stats.com is the only site I've found that offers player stats, widgets and sigs. Here's an example:

BF3 Stats
They also have bigger and smaller versions for different uses, such as in a forum signature, whole page (see my Gamer Profiles/Stats page), or smaller buttons for sidebars (see mine to the left). You can duplicate the widgets/sigs, or "graphics" as they're called on the site, and alter them to your liking. I had no problem finding a few ready-made graphics that I liked from the hundreds available.

Check it out and let me know which sig you chose.

I have high hopes for this movie. I read the book and it was awesome. Don't let me (or Max Brooks) down,  Marc Forster and Matthew Michael Carnahan!

Back To WordPress Blogging (Updated w/ Note)

It's been a while since I've blogged. I let my last blog kinda die off even though it was active. Life changes and big moves took up my time but now that I'm a bit more settled (for now I guess), I'll try picking it up again. I've went from WordPress to Tumblr, to some other blog platform I don't remember, and now back to WordPress. So far, WordPress is my favorite blogging platform.

My last blog was focused on technology and coding even though I strayed from that focus with some posts. This blog takes a more general approach that isn't focused on just technology and coding, it's focused on whatever I want. The name "emTr0" is a mash-up of my name. It stuck when I started using it as a gamertag for Xbox so now it's my username for pretty much everything.

Some of my interests which I'll blog about include gaming, movies, music, technology, coding, web and believe it or not, Android. I say believe it or not because I'm the original founder and former Executive Editor of BlackBerryRocks.com. I no longer own the website, though. BlackBerry has fallen below accepted smartphone standards and after doing some research, I decided Android was the next platform for me. I'm holding out for the Samsung Galaxy S4 as my first device.

For all you Apple fanboys out there, don't even bother. Not a fan and never will be. I don't even think I have QuickTime installed.

Well, that's it for my "first" blog post. Feel free to follow, share, like and comment! :-D
